Just Ask

Just Ask! is an industry-wide brand designed to promote shop saves to the general public.  Readers are encouraged to ask their local newsagent to reserve copies of their favourite magazine. The scheme also aims to raise awareness among consumers that newsagents can order any one of a huge range of magazines currently available in the UK.

What are the benefits of Just Ask!

  • Encouraging readers to order magazines direct from their local newsagent
  • Increasing readers' awareness that any magazine can be ordered
  • Making it easy to see where you can order magazines
  • Establishing a common brand for promoting magazine ordering
  • Using magazines to raise the awareness of the initiative to encourage retailers to participate

What can publishers do to support the campaign?

  • Feature the Just Ask! logo either on the front cover, or in a suitable place inside the magazine in each and every issue
  • Explain in the editorial what Just Ask! is about to the reader
  • Include a newsagent order form in each issue
  • Feature Just Ask! on your website, along with an order form that readers can download and print off
  • Include Just Ask! on all forms of relevant advertising being undertaken to increase your circulation

Shop saves can be just as important as subscriptions

  • They are the newsstand equivalent to a subscription
  • They help to alleviate the pressure on limited shelf space
  • They reduce the risk of unsolds
  • Increase the frequency of purchase and subsequently the sales of titles involved
  • For those who cannot afford a subscription or don't wish to commit to one, this is an affordable alternative
  • Just Ask! actively supports the local independent newsagent, which appeals to many consumers in our increasingly retail chain dominated universe
